"I have always had a passion for computers and could see myself in the IT industry but didn’t know how I was going to reach that goal. Because of my desire, I became curious about ComputerTraining.com and how I could reach such a goal within six months. My computer background now consists of technical skills in installation and configuration of operating systems, Active Directory administration and design, Network Security, Remote Access and more. I chose to change my career because I realized that I would reach the highest peak in my field and feel like I was missing something or even worse, not be able to recognize that limit. I didn’t feel valued and lost my drive. I would feel like I hadn’t accomplished anything had I stayed within my previous field. Since my new career change, I am able to speak with excitement about my job during a conversation with someone and not lose interest!
At first I was concerned that I would have a problem with my overwhelming schedule because of the demanding job that I had which frequently required overtime. I felt that there may be a struggle to juggle work and school, or trying to get assignments completed on time. This pressure led me to stress and worry whether or not I would be able to pursue this opportunity. I also feared that I may not understand the material or that it may be too technical for me. Before I let the fears and concerns devastate me, I recalled my initial plan and desire. I changed my “I think I can” to “I will” and kept my determination above all things.
For new students, I first recommend time management, which is the most important factor when taking an accelerated course. To avoid the possible roadblocks, attempt to get assignments completed well in advance and review a chapter or two more than you are expected to know prior to your next class. Start studying for exams on day one and be prepared to ask plenty of questions. Form study groups and get to know your peers so you can network within and outside of class. Express your concerns because you are not alone and someone may have the same concern you have.
Overall, my experience with ComputerTraining.com has broadened my technical skills. The IT industry is constantly developing which makes me excited about the direction my career path is taking. In this new and exciting career, I never feel like I am working but rather enjoying a hobby!"
