The opportunity that ComputerTraining.com gave was just what I was looking for.  Their program would give me the chance to achieve Microsoft certifications with six months, as opposed to the eighteen to twenty four months that some of the local colleges had to offer.  Since I was changing careers, I knew that I needed to be able to move as quickly as possible.  And since ComputerTraining.com also offered placement assistance it was the perfect fit for me.

As the time for my class drew near, I started to become nervous about my decisions to take the class.  My work associates were not supportive and I would hear things like, “You’re too old to start a new career,” or, “You’ll be back.”  Every time I would hear these comments, I would tell myself that I can do anything that I put my mind to.  The fact that I love a good challenge is another thing that I had going for me.  I was determined to succeed in my new career and I wasn’t going to let anyone discourage me from trying.

There were times when I questioned whether or not I would be able to keep up. Each time I felt that fear, I would tell myself that it is only six months and I can make whatever changes to my schedule that were needed to allow me to be successful in my studies. As the classes continued on, I found that I was really starting to understand some of the things that had initially confused me. I found that the more I worked with the labs, the more I gained a solid understanding of the concepts being taught.

Towards the end off my classes, I was approached about doing an internship for ComputerTraining.com, to help set up for classes and work with students that needed help during labs. This really confirmed that I had learned a lot of the material in the previous six months and now I, was able to help other people understand the material as well.

I was definitely concerned with the enormous amount of technical information the curricula outlined in a very short timeframe. The effort required by the program is no small or simple task. Solid time management and some sacrifice are required. If it were easy, everyone would have an MCSA / MCSE.

My new career is in data storage technology. This field has been expanding exponentially year after year. The opportunities that have already been made available to me are extensive. The repetition and memorization is extremely beneficial.
