"I spent five years in the Marine Corps as an Electro-Optical Ordnance Technician. I acquired many technical skills while in the Corps. I was 25 years old when I re-entered civilian life and found that I lacked the credentials necessary to get a job that I could develop into a career. I had many skills, but few that carried over into the civilian sector. I chose to pursue a career in Information Technology. IT is a field that is always in demand, even during times of economic difficulty, and Microsoft is the benchmark that most businesses base their networks on.
I chose ComputerTraining.com because of my time in the Marine Corps. I have found that experience is the key to success. ComputerTraining.com is focused on teaching the fundamentals of network development. Not only are the fundamentals explained, but you are also guided through practical applications. These practical application exercises strengthen your actual ability to do the job in “real world” situations. My instructor challenged me to think. This is key to developing the problem solving skills used to develop and maintain various forms of networks.
My biggest concern, during my time at ComputerTraining.com, was being put in a position where I would have to walk into a network by myself and be expected to resolve any and all problems that exist within that network. Currently, I do just that, every day. I work with a fellow Marine as an IT Consultant. With his help, I have overcome my biggest concern and have excelled in all aspects of my new career. I attribute my placement to the Director of Placement who took great care in placing me in a position that I would thrive in. Personally, the Career Services justifies everything, in and of itself. I love my job!
If I were to offer any advice to anyone with an interest in entering the IT field, it would be that you must understand that there will be times when you are not the smartest person in the room. Learn from everyone around you, and enthusiastically take on all projects that you have not yet experienced. You are only as good as what you have done. Everyone should strive to be better, and there will ALWAYS be something new to experience."

"Prior to my enrollment at ComputerTraining.com, I was a supervisor in the manufacturing industry. My computer experience was specifically Microsoft Office at work, and as a home computer enthusiast learning hardware upgrades and software downloads. I spent many hours exploring my home PC operating system. I enjoyed learning how to configure the settings for different users, creating files and folders and downloading different programs from the internet. Eventually, my friends and family were asking me for advice about their home computer issues. I soon realized, I was learning valuable personal computing skills, but I still didn’t really understand how computers communicate. I also realized that I wanted to understand this thing called “computer networking”, and that maybe I could become someone that earned a living working with computers.
My interest in becoming and IT professional led me to ComputerTraining.com. Their six month long, instructor led classroom was exactly what I needed. Their coursework taught me the skills I needed to pass the Microsoft certifications, and their career placement helped me get the job I have today in the IT industry.
I would strongly recommend ComputerTraining.com for anyone that is committed to making a change in their life. The initial change starts with you, and your dedication to the coursework and classroom. The training is intensive, and should be taken seriously with a positive goal oriented attitude. The goal is the final change in your life; to become an IT professional. As students of Information Technology, we must welcome the changing cycle of operating systems and software applications. Likewise, we must be willing to accept the challenge of changing ourselves for a new career."

"“Before starting at ComputerTraining.com, my computer skills mainly centered around Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Art – nothing too spectacular and nothing that would get me too far in life. I have many friends who went through an IT Vo-Tech program while in high school. Many of them began working in very good jobs and continued to climb the business ladder. I knew then, that the career they chose held many opportunities for growth. What is best about my new career in the IT industry is that technology is always changing, so I will always be learning something new. There are also many opportunities for my own personal growth to go however far up the business ladder I choose. Entering the ComputerTraining.com program was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. I have learned many skills in the program for my new career and also pushed myself to try something to better my future."

"I was always one for computers whether it was taking it apart and putting it back together or playing trial and error with different applications and programs. I chose to get certified because I needed a career change and my current pay was not enough.
My new career gives me the opportunity to advance to a better position without the fear of being replaced. The great thing about being certified is that you know you have the knowledge and skills to do practically anything in the IT field.
The first fear I had stepping into the program was that it was going to be difficult and very challenging but in the end, it would be well worth my time spent. I overcame my biggest fear with hard work, dedication and the flexibility that the IT field requires.
The best advice I could give anyone thinking of a career change would be that it may be hard at first, but if you keep at it and give it your all then you will be successful and love every minute of your new IT field position.
My new experience has given me a great value in my job and a sense of pride for what I do. I no longer worry about being replaced by someone better than me or whether or not I can do anything more with my job. My job offers me the opportunities and extra skills I need to succeed."

"I have had many years of computer tinkering and self-taught knowledge, but never anything formal. I considered certification to gain credentials and credibility for my knowledge. I decided to make a career change because I was max out in potential growth in my current job and there were no more plan to grow that business.
The ability to walk in the door and already have the credentials to back up the things you are trying to communicate is what I like most about my new career.
My biggest fear was finding a job that would suit my talents an ability, but be challenging enough to keep me interested.
Advice I would give incoming students is to be willing to be coach. Expect to work hard. And understand that this experience is the door to unlimited potential growth.
My life was changed because I was able to do a contract job that was in part responsible for securing a permanent position before I graduated. ComputerTraining.com has given me the credentials I needed to secure a job."

"I came to Computer Training to learn more about my passion in IT. I had a Bachelors degree Technical Management and an Associates Degree in Electronic Computer Technology but I wanted more. At first I was worried that this would be another boot camp program which gave you too much information in too little time, but instead it turned out to be the best thing I could have done for myself.
Everyone here is great; they really want you to succeed. My technical instructor explained everything in detail and in a way that made it easy for anyone to understand. The Career Services staff is by far the best I have ever worked with. Even most of my class had jobs before we even graduated!
I am now an IT consultant for local banks and it couldn't get any better. The world is driven by technology and IT professionals are in demand to keep the technology going. I would not only recommend ComputerTraining.com to anyone wanting a change or even just wanting to have more knowledge, I would say you are crazy if you pass up on this chance."

"Before I came to ComputerTraining.com I was working in Logistics. I was making a decent buck for my age, however I knew that I needed to get some kind of degree in order to have a secure future.
Ever since I remember, I was always very interested in technology. I always seemed to be the person my family and friends looked to regarding their computer issues. I started going to community college right after high school, but it just wasn’t for me. I felt like I was back in high school all over again.
Then I heard the commercial on the radio about ComputerTraining.com and took the Online Skills Challenge. Next I knew I was in class. Of course there was a great risk of commitment, but I knew that if I worked hard, it would pay off, and it did! Today I am working downtown doing IT Consulting and making over $40,000 a year. I think that anyone who has an interest in computers should at least try ComputerTraining.com.
Thank you ComputerTraining.com for changing my life."
